Under the public awareness campaign of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Delhi, Mr. Anand Kumar Kedia, under the guidance of the Principal Chief Commissioner, Delhi, Mr. Praveen Kumar, organized a special interaction program for companies in the energy sector on 13.08.2025. The program was attended by 30 senior corporate officers from major tax-deducting entities. The main topics of discussion included provisions related to TDS, the latest amendments, specific challenges in the energy sector, updated income tax returns under Section 139(8A) and their compliance implications, misuse of Section 80GGC by employees, and difficulties in filing multiple rectification statements. This interaction enriched the participants' understanding, provided solutions to practical problems, and further strengthened trust between the department and tax deductors. This was the seventh sector-specific interaction of the financial year 2025-26.
